Recommended museums/factories to visit on European roadtrip

Hi,

I have a week free in Germany (and France/Belgium) next month and fancy getting some motoring places to visit.

Currently looking at:

Mercedes factory tour
Porsche Factory Tour
Hymer museum
Classic Remise Düsseldorf
Audi Factory Tour
I’d like to do the BMW factory but the week I’m free, they only offer the German speaking tour.

Any other recommendations for places to visit whilst I’m out there? I don’t mind travelling and may also do the Peugeot museum.

A friend raved about the Schlumpf Collection (Mulhouse). I think its the worlds largest collection of Bugatti cars, inc two Royales.

I really enjoyed the Manoir de L'Automobile in north west France, just over an hr south of St Malo. Some amazing collections and cars there, plus a few offshore powerboats!

I visited in September of last year - the place is massive, full of pre-war cars.

Louwman museum in Den Haag is pretty good if you're passing through the Netherlands.

If you're anywhere near Heidelberg I would strongly recommend the tech museums Sinshiem and Speyer.

Lots of planes including Concorde and the Tu144 at Sinshiem and an AN12 a 747 and loads more at Speyer.

Speyer also has a space exhibit including ta real Russian Buran Space shuttle..

Well worth a visit.

Schlumpf is magnificent. Some post-war cars too, but the Bugattis particularly are fabulous.

Sinsheim, Speyer and Schlumpf are brilliant museums.

http://www.auto-museum.at/ Gumund porsche museum in Austria - small, but historic.

I loved going to https://www.autostadt.de/en/ in Wolfsburg . . . in combo with a trip to VW museums there.

Obviously Stuttgart as a lot going on (Merc and Porsche).

A thumbs up from me. It also acquired a decent selection of cars from the sorely missed Rosso Bianco Museum in Aschaffenburg, Germany.

If you are in Munich the German Transport Museum is worth a visit.
All in my opinion of course….

Agreed. The Deutsches Museum has 3 locations. The main one is like the,British Museum with a bit of everything. Very interesting and a full day in itself. The transport Museum is cars, bikes, trucks and trains. Finally the Aircraft at an out of town location. All 3 are well worth a visit, as are the Porsche, Mercedes and Audi museums.
There is just so much to choose from.

Hoping to go to the VW museum in Wolfsburg in the summer, so can't recommend it yet, but looks good. Anyone on here been?
