Ive been looking around for two things locally (West Mids, Lichfield to be specific).

Somewhere to store an additional car and 4 post lift I can use now and then.

The only option I can see is to rent an entire unit for myself, seems wasteful.

I recall this being a thing not so long ago ? Anyone have any idea of the issues ?

Separately, if you could sign up for a local "store & raise" service would you commit in a 12 month contract for £100 a month. Which buys you 10 hours of ramp time. With addons for a spot to store your car outside for another £100?

Alls I know is that I would.

The one I made a note of (around 15 years ago and probably read about them on here) was Ramp and Wrench in Coventry but they are no longer...

Found this though:

Perceived risk from insurers probably makes a lot of them u viable.

And so incrementally things get less fun, aaaaalways insurance ‘oh Noe’s! Risk!’

My local rent-a-ramp place closed a few years ago, there just wasn't the demand to cover costs for them. It was a spare bay of two 4 post lifts at the back of a garage who were happy to give advice if asked and drummed up quite a bit of work for them when people found out things were above their skillet or needed a special tool. The insurance is what killed it. As for car storage, there's either open air ones or expensive classics in a warehouse types now. Both seem to be busy at the place I keep my caravan.
