Stainless steel exhaust corrosion question.
Discussion
I ve recently purchased a pre-owned F430 stainless exhaust. I ve always heard great things about the build quality of these systems, but I ve noticed a few things on mine that I wanted to sense check with people who know more than I do.
The exhaust has clearly been used, which I expected, but there does appear to be some corrosion and what look like fine cracks along the welds at the flanges. I m no welding expert, so I may be overthinking it, but it raised a question for me.
Along the weld toe (where the pipe meets the flange), there s a narrow, linear mark that follows the circumference of the weld, with corrosion tracking directly along that line rather than randomly across the surface. The same feature can be seen on multiple flanges and from different angles in the photos and rust on the same place on the underneath surface.
I m trying to understand whether this is more consistent with a weld toe crack or lack of fusion, or whether this is just normal surface corrosion you d expect to see on a used exhaust that s been through heat cycles.
My main concern is avoiding installing it now only to have issues in the foreseeable future or whether I m simply overreacting and this is nothing out of the ordinary.
Appreciate any thoughts

Certainly looks very similar to stainless exhausts I've had in the past, the flanges from memory weren't stainless, that said we're talking run of the mill cars not Ferraris
This.Clearly, the flanges are not stainless.
Clean them up. They are "used" after all. If you'd bought "new" you may have a cause for concern.
