In the late 2000s I was at a car show, and one of the stands I visited had a very performance focused car. Not quite a track toy, but definitely not a comfy cruiser.
It was enclosed, but it had something more akin to a cockpit than a cabin. The passenger seat was behind, but to the side of the driver's seat. So a sort of staggered tandem arrangement.
It was a low volume manufacturer, and they were encouraging people to come and try the car at their HQ (I can't remember which country). A missed opportunity, but there was no way I'd have been able to buy it so I wasn't going to waste their time.
It's bugging me that I don't know what car I'm describing! Can the hivemind help out?
