Have been thinking about getting an Impreza WRX for quite a while, and recently got a new job with a salary increase so the time is right, but with the petrol prices the way they are and set to continue, i am starting to think if it is a wise decision. Part of me thinks, I should go for the economy option of a BMW diesel or something with much higher mpg. Cant believe the price at the moment, it was only 2 years ago it was about 86p / litre!

It's about what makes you tick, not what you own. So no...

Just what we need, a thread asking how people feel about fuel prices.

Look on the bright side, gas guzzling performance cars get cheaper.

Saying 'my bad' is worse than starting the thread.

Buy the Subaru. If my experience is anything to go by, petrol doesn't seem to be getting cheaper and people who buy diesels eventually think they are some kind of genius who's bought an amazing car. Therefore you must do it now or never do it at all.

Now, if you'd have asked 'Anyone retiring from Pistonheads due to fuel price threads', you may have had different responses.

Retiring from pistonheads?

Yeah, cos buying a diesel, particularly a BMW one, means that you won't be able to post on here.

There's hardly any diesel owners that post on here, and those that do never ever mention how great their cars are.

Don't get a Subaru if rising fuel prices worry you, but don't automatically assume you need a diesel either.

Take a look at the most fun real world 35 mpg thread.

So how's about you ask the same question on one of those then. smile

I'll nip this one in the bud.
