You are much better thinking of a plate and asking DVLA if it has been previously issued.
Check on the various sites if it is on a car or previously been sold and if you cannot find any trace it is possible it has not been issued.
I have found a few and DVLA are auctioning them for me.
Look on the auction site for next weeks Manchester auction, is there anything there?
Wait for the next online auction to come up there might be something there.
Buying a £390 plate for £2k is a mugs game.
Get a plate that does not need to be altered.
There is no hurry, maybe pick up a plate that spells a word that does not mean anything that will look good.
Stay away from 11 plates as it dates your van.
