Stolen Cars with Missing Vins

Ive come across a few stolen recovered cars with missing/altered vins

whats the process in getting this rectified? Is it doable?

Yes. They can be replaced.

I cannot off the top of my head remember how you sort it though. I'll try to find out but quicker answer would be to ring you police forces vehicle examiners.
