Which Wheel finish?

Previous owner of the TT got the wheels resprayed by a complete plonker who simply sprayed without prepping them - 2 months in the shed while the winter wheels are on and they have all micro-blistered...

Fancied a bit of a change - nothing extreme just a slightly darker (but not to dark) finish a bit like the old E39 M5 used to have...

Dropped them off this morning and decided on the titanium finish that Audi offer as standard. Our car is Deep Sea Blue.

Top one looks nicer to me but the lighting is not very consistent in the pictures. Recently I have a bit of a boner for black wheels :/

Definitely the titanium, although perhaps a slightly darker (anthracite?) would be even better.

Id go for the titanuim, slightly darker look myself as igt works really well on dark colour cars as its not as bland as black and you can still see the detailing in the wheels.

In the past I have used VW Pearl grey/atlas grey, Honda Platinum Grey, BMW Dolphin grey/Graphite sparkling grey to spray my own wheels to get a darker grey/mettalic finish but all of these are a fair bit darker than what you are thinking.

The titanium is definitley not dark enough so I voted for the normal silver.

Friend of mine has a TT in all black, whells windows leather, etc, and it looks very good... So go black on the wheels

Without a shadow of doubt plain Silver every time on every car... I've yet to see a car look better on darker wheels... they just look dirty and lose the lines / contours of the wheels imo.

Thanks all. Think black may be a bit much (although it worked on the Exige I had!)



Have asked them to finish them in the RS titanium finish, so we'll see what that ends up like. Just not blistering will be a start!!
