Flat tyres on a car that has been stood.

Got a car which has moved about 30ft in 8 months. As such, 3 of the 4 tyres have gone down flat. I can pump them up with a foot pump but they only stay up for a day or so.

I took two tyres to the petrol station and filled them there to about 35 psi and they lasted about 3 days before going flat again.

The car wont be running until next week, do all three need to go to the garage? They have no punctures or anything.

I was told that sticking loads and loads of air in then taking the car for a run would get the tyres warm and 're-seal' them. Is this true? Or do all three need to come off the rims?

8 months flattened means they are probably scrap - the sidewalls will have been subjected to a strange loading which will have cracked them. I'd be wary of driving it as far as a tyre fitting place TBH.

Please don't muck about with tyres.

check the valves, but if they are ok then the tyres are fckd

Its not the valves, it's leaking out where the sidewall connects to the rim of the wheel.

If you insist on saving money, At least put part worns on it.

Tyres that have been dead flat could have had the rim sitting on the side wall for that whole time and obviously put abnormal wear on them.

Even parking a car for that long with pumped up tyres will result in a mishapen tyre, that's why it's allways reconeded to use axle stands if leaving car for more than a few weeks OR move it weekly.
The tyre reinforcing steel belts will be bent by now and it will feel like driving with a flat spot and vibrate like hell/go pop without any warning.

I'm gonna bet on the reason being that the changing shape of the sidewall ask they deflated disturbed the bead/rim and now won't seal. You could get away with taking the tyres off, cleaning the rim with a wire brush and using bead sealant. Providing the tyres are in good condition that is, but after 8 moths standing, I think they'll be fked.

My point is you need to check that there isn't an inherant problem with the wheels too.
