Just spotted new BMW 1 series replacement in Clapham

Following a tip off from one of our offices that a camouflaged 1 Series was sat outside with a cover over it, I grabbed my camera and shot over there and camped out until they left.

I dont think there is a problem.
He just posted a cool pic not many people may have seen before, then pulled the pic in case he could flog it for some money to a mag.
Then someone misread the thread on a small blackberry screen and mentioned the word complaint.

Although photos of a BMW 1 series excite me as much as being gored by an angry moose, I came into this thread for photos.

I remember many a year ago I happened to come across the current shape/model Range Rover being tested in the desert out in the UAE about 6 months before any mag had seen the car or had photos. I took a bunch of shots much to the dismay of the LR engineers. I never used those shots because I felt so guilty. . .the guys were pleading me not to use them.

i see them on alot of these new cars - doesnt hide the body work very well

It doesn't hide the overall shape but they do conceal the creases and lines somewhat. At the end of the day though, this is still a BMW 1 series...

I think the swirls hide detail lines, but you can't disguise the overall shape.

also....the 1er coupe is quite nice, the hatch is not my cup of tea. i've been in a 130i hatch which was a laugh though...

WTF are BMW doing with their styling (again). That Bangle idiot sent them off down an ugly path, but rather than acknowledge that, they've gone even uglier. That pronounced nose theme they have now really does look crap.

Looks like the front end might have been fiddled a bit as well to look a bit less feminine?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Coupe with this facelift, I like the current one but always think the front end just doesn't live up to the rest of the car's design.
