Experiences with "Pure Performance" car sales??

Hi all,

In the process of looking for a new car and I am interested in this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2576420.htm

I wondered if any one has experience of dealing with this dealer? The secondary site is buchanan motors which is where the extensive pictures of the cars for sale are stored - looks pretty comprehensive and the Golf I have put deposit on looks very clean and there are even photos of the documents to verify service and test etc.

I am due to look at the car this weekend however I just wanted to test the water before making the long trip from Yorkshire to Glasgow

A quick search on google for them brought up a little thread on a porsche owners club website which raised a couple of concerns re the authenticity of the business.

To be fair the price is about right, they are offering a good deal for a cheap p/ex I have and the mileage seems genuine or about right for the year anyway!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

They are claiming they can remap a Golf V5 to 200bhp, that alone makes me want to give them a wide berth

Seem to remember a thread on here about the 968 club sport they are showing on their website, and there were a lot of comments on how straight the bodyshell was/is. Different car I suppose, but MIGHT give an indication of the business.

I can't seem to find the thread using the search function though.

With a name like Pure Performance I would expect them to be well known north of the border with the petrol head fraternity but I live about half an hour from them and have never heard of them.

Should maybe post the question in the regional PH section also.

Seems a very long way to go for a Golf with 120k miles on it though??

True it is a long way but it's a road trip and we plan to have stay in Edinburgh whilst there - nice long weekend!

Ive done my own HPI and all is clear so theres some confidence in that.
