DVLA Tax Website down - for how long?

Directgov vehicle tax online website has been down since at least Monday "for essential maintenance" - anyone know how long it's going to be off for?

I do know that my customers wouldn't tolerate half a day, let alone 2 or 3 days....

Works fine for me. Try holding control and press refresh - forces your browser to bypass the caché.

On an unrelated note, I smiled slightly when I misread Evl in the URL as Evil. More fitting term, I think.

Well that's bloody odd - I've refreshed, and had already also tried the full (bypass cache) refresh, and it still doesn't work?

I've got three vehicles I need to tax!

That's the link I used, and it worked for me.

To further add to the weirdness - I just ran up the work laptop, which is running XP and the oldest version of IE you could imagine, and it works

The PC which it won't work on is running W7 with IE8 and cookies cleared.

I had the 'essential maintenance' page for days last month. I was using Chrome on my Macbook Air... Tried on my work PC and went straight in, but I didn't have the paperwork so decided I'd do it when I got home... Only to find the bloody thing was down again.

The next day I tried again at work and got in fine, using IE8. Checked my iPhone and was getting the 'essential maintenance' page again. So it seems to be a little temperamental/browser dependant.

Which is helpful.

Tried a few times this week, and eventually got there (same PC, no cache refresh) yesterday.
