HPI Check Cat D Query?

Looking at a damaged car and its coming up as Cat D damaged as I expected, but the damage is showing as recorded in May 2006, the car im question was registered om March 1st 06.
Is there any way of finding out what the damage was at that time? The mileage is stupidly low, but I cant help thinking this car may have been damaged for a second time.

Yes mate.

Accidents aren't recorded on HPI unless vehicle gets written off.

But this is supposedly coming direct from an insurance company.

I think I`ll walk away, something just isnt right with it.

No real reason to do as long as the damage is as described.

Once it is repaired, it will still be a Cat D regardless.

I dont know, something isnt right with the car/ad and I cant put my finger on it. If this is recent damage then I am assuming that it is not showing up on a HPI check yet, but will do at some point in the future and maybe even as a Cat C.

Surely cat d on an 8 week old cat would be very extensive.
Unless it's stupidly cheap I'd leave it.

If it's coming direct from an insurance company it may just be that they havent updated HPI yet...presumably damaged fairly recently. The fact that it was already Cat D from May 2006 is probably unrelated.

Got an email from hpi this evening updating yesterdays report. Also registered as a Cat D in December.
