hi everyone, i,m looking at buying the cl60 bi turbo and would like some advise if i should or not, it would be a 2004 model......regards paul.

ABC pump
ABC struts
rear pillar 'corrosion'
air con playing up
gearbox oil leaks
turbo failure

are the primary issues.

One chap bought an S600 (so four door of the one you are looking at)just before Christmas which he beat me to and in the 3 months he has had it, has spent just under £8000 on repairs.

They are extremely expensive cars to run and fix when they go pop, which they do on a frequent basis.

My advice would be to buy it. But my advice is generally st.

First of all welcome to PH

For informed opinion, i think you might need to give us a bit more info, like what are you going to be using it for? What have you had before to compare it to? What are your reservations?

Supercar ownership by proxy is evident from the posts above.

They go like stink, are very comfortable and in a straight line, will shame a lot of exotics.

The ABC and struts are the killer and which are on the "lesser" CL500 too. If not done, they WILL need doing and I will leave you to enjoy the surprise if you want to call up and get a quote on these. There is, at present, no aftermarket replacement for ABC struts (there is for the AIRMATIC system but not ABC).

I have been on the verge of buying one (or the sedan) myself on more than one occassion but it is the money-pit of things to go wrong that scare me off (and this is saying something consider what I own/have owned).

Go for it ! My step father has a 600 bi-turbo as his daily driver.

-fast (surreal how easily it gets up and goes)
- comfortable ( our one has basicly evey bloody option on it including the Bose sounds system which is fantastic)

great value for money .... We've taken out a warranty policy for it, and it does about 18mpg real world 80lepton motorway driving.
Can be mapped to well over 600 bhp / 600ftlb trq.
