Problem Juddering/ Banging

My car has developed a loud banging noise and judders violently when accelerating as if I was compressing and decompressing the clutch at speed (espeically when turning).
When driving in a straight line the symptoms seem to die down.

Before this happend I also noticed that i could hear a faint ticking noise. I could only hear the ticking when the car is in gear, moving and my foot completly off the accelerator.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

My suspicions are either driveshaft or CV joint but i'm worried it could be something worse like the gearbox.

Gearbox/diff/driveshaft/CV joint/wheel bearing/wheel about to fall off.

Jack it up and have a poke about, but FFS don't drive it in this condition.

Ford mondeo 2004 mk3 1.8sci petrol

Just took the car out again and 90% of the time it only juddering when the steering wheel isn't centred.

The clicking noise seemed to happen all the time when in gear, moving but while not pushing the accelerator. It used to stop when engaging the clutch (free rolling) but now it seems to be alot more constant since the car has been violently jolting about. Even so, the noise is reallly quiet, I can barely hear it at all at some points.

Ive also noticed even when not pushing the accelerator and the car is in a low gear decellerating during a turn it will also jolt.

If it's a CV joint breaking up, FFS stop driving it! Do some diagnostic work first. Or did you not hear what I suggested yesterday?

Obviously redrooster but i want to know what is wrong so it would help if I knew the symptoms first. Really helpful comments FFS!

You are the one telling us the symptoms!!!

Either: take it apart this weekend to see what's wrong, or pay someone to do it for you.

It's a serious sounding fault, youll only get to the bottom of it by getting your hands dirty, not by discussing it on pistonheads!

It ain't going to heal itself, so why the hell are you still driving it? You've already described the symptoms as 'violent juddering' of some sort, so why keep on driving the damn thing? Are you trying to have an accident when the thing finally flies apart - because that's what's likely to happen?

I had a Mondeo MK2 '98 that suddenly started a banging lurching thing from the front, I pulled into the next available stop which co-incidentally was a Kwick-Fit. Up on the ramps showed a broken wheel bearing.
