Compressors & Spray guns

Ok so I recently purchassed a compressor and it came with a spraying kit.

Question. Can I use any type of paint in the spray gun, ie can I use it to
spray picket fencing, would the paint need to be thinned.

Also whats the procedure for cleaning afterwards?

Unless the paint is specifically for spraying you will need to thin it. I have seen on the TV people use sprayers to apply gloss paint, must have been thinned a lot.

Cleaning it depends on the type of paint. If you stick to water based paints you should be able to clean it with warm water

Yes you can spray pretty much anything that is thin enough to get through the nozzle.

Cleaning depends on what you have been spraying, if its water based use water, if its solvent based you will need some gun cleaners.
After spraying flush the gun through with whatever you are using to clean it then break the gun down and make sure each part is thoroughly clean. At work we leave the guns in a bucket of cleaners overnight just to make sure

And fence care stuff is usually water based I think, just check the instructions on the back to see what you need for cleaning.
