We need more speed cameras !!!!

...They should replace every single f......g speed hump.
I own several cars and business vans which I have to maintain and because they spend most of their life in London I'm fed up with replacing shocks, wheel bearings, clutches, paying more for petrol, swearing when I have to slow down to 5mph when the speed limit is 20 etc.
I don't mind speed limits in towns, but why do they have to be executed in such a stupid way???
Councils don't make any money on them, I lose money fixing cars because of them, cars use more fuel and the earth is going to overheat or explode next year or whatever they say now...
If speed humps would be replaced with speed cameras we could drive normally as in 20mph in 20mph limit, not 5-20-5-20-5-20... Journeys would be more relaxing, cars less worn out and councils would make money on muppets who didn't spot the cameras.
Isn't it win-win??

ks me off is when some genius fkwit installs taller bumps at the exit than at the entrance to a location. Sen-fking-sational you arsecandle! Too fking hard to install bumps of the same size was it you knobjockey? Cocksocket Of The Year awarded to whoever manages to sign off that rectal prolapse of a day's work...

But we all know that it's not going to happen and not everyone is a PH knowing when to speed and when not.Somebody doing 70mph in a narrow residential street WOULD BE a problem and unfortunately some sort of restriction is necessary. Just not such a stupid one, harmful to everyone involved.
Just driven down a badly lit - poorly maintained - road not far from where I live.
Roa condition and knowledge of speed bumps meant I was doing only 20 when I hit an unmarked (no white arrows) speed bump. It's new since the last time I drove down the road.

Well it seems to me that you have a choice: drive at 10mph or replace your suspension regularly. Personally I'd go for the former... but obviously it's up to you if you'd rather smash your car to pieces. kambites said:

So the usual "Doesn't matter is something wrong/stupid/could be improved, it's easier just to give up..." advice then? Thanks 
Even at walking pace some of them are absolutely vicious, and they are all without exception irritating as hell. Never thought I'd say it, but on roads with stupid bumps every 50 yards all the way down them (which are invariably residential and unsuitable for more than 30 anyway) I would actually support more speed cameras as an alternative to being forced to drive along something bumpier than a fking off-road course.
And people say you don't need a 4x4 in towns....

Not really, I can understand complaining about them. I suppose I just can't understand having so little mechanical sympathy that you've had to repeatedly replace suspension components because of it. kambites said:

1) Would you be so kind and explain it to my employees? 
2) No matter how slow you're going to take it - you have to agree that shock absorbers wear out quicker on speed bumps than a flat road. Plus all the others negatives I've mentioned...
