A bit niche maybe. But anyone running such a setup? If so what do you think and what hardware are you running?

Only seen it used on landrovers as a kind of diesely nitrous

I thought LPG stood for liquid petroleum gas ? that wouldn't would that work in a diesel ? surely that would be LDG ?

Or is there a equivalent for diesil

It's being researched as a thesis title at my uni currently.... can't offer anymore info than that though unfortunately

It does, but it's a mixture of hydrocarbon gases (in liquid form, of course), predominantly Propane, Butane or both.

You inject gas into the intake of the engine where it gets drawn into the clyinders but it doesn't go bang due to LPG having a very high octane number. It only ignites once the diesel is injected which burns and ignites the LPG. Since diesels run ultra lean with excess O2 there is enough O2 present to burn the extra fuel.

It can either be used as a power boost or you can use it as an alterative fuel but you must keep the diesel running to provide the ignition

LPG is used a a catalyst, to promote the diesel's burn rate. It's added before the intake manifold.

Personally, I think some ether is much more fun for that very quick diesel experience.
