Should i be worried?

So I should start off with what i was doing. I was driving home (city centre Edinburgh) minding my own business doing 30mph in a 30mph and i noticed a mpv behind me.
Now since i got my Z4MC i've had people tail gate me a number of times.... i think people like to get upclose to see the car or feel i'm up for a race cause its an M init?? Anyway as i said they started to look twitchy like the were going to overtake although no actual signs that they were going to...... at this point i know most of you are going to shoot me down in flames and say why didnt i pull over and let them pass but i thought screw them theres so many lights they'll never make any quicker progress. So at the next lights i put my foot down and went up to a decent speed and fell back down again. At the lights i turned right and they followed..... and again and again......... anyway onto a main artery the 3 oldish blokes in the car stared at me and took a left back towards Leith....... and i headed back into town as i didnt think parking up where i live would of been that smart...
Am i being silly to be concerned about whether or not they'll get my details off the DVLA for 15 quid or what ever the people holding all our personal details charge and key / damage the car? it sounds extreme and tbh we spoke no words nor did i bate them into getting annoyed other than pulling away at a certain point in the road 20 mins earlier?

Yer I guess they were either a) interested or b) jelous and annoyed that I showed them a clean pair of heels.
I live in the new town side of town. So took a pretty drastic detour once I
thought something was up and ended
on the road going up to the Omni
centre.
On another note I've seen two Z4MC in Dunfermline seem popular around here!

I take it that you normally drive on deserted roads and this is the first time you've ever had a car follow you?
It's well known that the DVLA hand out your details to anyone who asks for them and cancer has been knocked off topspot as the number one killer to be replaced by blokes in an MPV.
