Nice cars you never see garaged.

I'll be on with putting a garage up soon now that the weather and light are with us. It got me wondering have you ever seen a nice car that isn't garaged?

What a strange question. Of course we have seen nice cars that are not in a garage.

If they were in a garage then how would you see them? By default they must be outside to be visible, unless they are in a garage made of glass.

There's a chap with a 360 Spider whoblives near me and it's never garaged, does have a proper cover for it though. Of course in London there's a lot of exotica not garaged.

What I was trying to see is, do you know of any nice/expensive cars that you see not garaged that really ought to be. That guy down the road who owns a classic Jag and leaves it out in all weathers as an example of what might be.

I know where there's a Cayman parked in a street which is used by people who live a short walk away and have no parking with the house. I notice it has no badges front and rear...just some scratches.

Surely there are more cons to leaving a car outside than inside.

Less chance of rust developing, less chance of vandals wrecking it for instance.

I work in London and often around Knightsbridge/Mayfair etc. It is perfectly normal to see Astons, Bentley, Ferraris etc parked out on the street as a lot of houses there (even in the millions) don't come with a garage or underground parking!

My DB9 won't fit through the garage doors, so that's left outside. Though it does have Astons outdoor car cover on 95% of the time.

Kept both my Carreras parked on the street sometimes not even close to the house (SL postcode!) never had any problems.

Parked my RR Sport outside my flat on the sleepy isle of wight - keyed within a month.

The next place I buy will be gated with a double garage.

Are you stupid? the only real reason 'exotic' cars are left out all year round is when the owners do not have access to a garage or shelter.


There also use to be a tvr t350c that lived by the level in brighton in some crappy pay and display parking

TVR Cerb near me. Not garaged, not used either and missing a wheel. The outside has gone green with mold, (was blue) and it is the 4.5 aswell. Been there since about 2000-2001. Was only registered in 1999.

Is there not as much risk of vandalism in these areas. Where I live (well not my exact area but in the same town) there are places where you wouldn't leave a car for two minutes - having said that I know all towns have there rought spots. But apart from that vehicles even new ones in a decent climate will deteriorate faster outside than in.

In a logical world anyone would assume that a person with the money to purchase a super car would have the means to provide it with shelter. Although reading above it seems that even mega buck houses in London lack garages or underground parking. This is the sort of thing I was routing at.
