... you log into ebay and see your "recommended" items. Until recently, my most recently viewed item was the lady in the helmet from the "using the mrs to sell the car thread" hehe

You aren't even old enough to drive yet but almost buy an MX5 from ebay thus bankrupting yourself. (I managed to stop my self from clicking the button)

Absolutely. I once bought a Peugeot 309 for £70 "just to see what it was like". Bloody marvellous was the answer, nobody else understood.

You fool. biggrin

Imagine a 17 yr old in an MX5... probably get ribbed by your male friends but enjoy the drive and get admiration from all the girls.

You work out what you have lost financially on cars over the last two years and want to weep a little, yet continue to buy another one anyway

You have got a set of alloys in the living room and a spare steering wheel and some front struts under the breakfast bar.

Or...you work it out what you've lost on cars over the last two years and then manage to justify every penny of it to yourself...right before you click on autotrader 'just to have a look'

Bah screw em. I bet they won't be laughing when they understeer into a ditch.

Oh and another one.

You know you are addicted to cars when you are planning a ring trip for this time next year and if the parents say no will leave a note and sneak off in the middle of the night. I bet I can get to the ring in one stint only stopping for fuel and food. 9 Hours at motorway speeds in an MX5 (with the roof down) biggrin

Hmm, Tire trailer for the 5' Good idea me thinks. It will be put the important stuff (car bits) in the boot and then clothes in a bag in the passenger footwell. And the extra 4 wheels can go on the tire trailer. Right I'll do one lap now and then go back to the hotel until tomorrow (5 laps later) dam track is closing till tomorrow.

Adjustable damping for a breakfast bar? It could catch on, "hang on love I'm just gonna dial in a couple of turns to handle my meat and potatoes..."

When you have a car on the drive, as well as the car you actually drive, that doesn't move, hasn't moved in a while, and probably never will move again, that just "Needs a bit of work..."

As well as the bits of previous cars in the garage that you seem to think may be of use some day.

eltax91 get a defender, you know you want to.

I've got a collection of bits from various cars, I cant part with them incase I get another model again in the future - mostly they are hanging around because there has been a string of cars I've had to sell rather than wanted to so it's a way of clinging on to them. I also buy haynes manuals even if I don't own the car, the last one I bought at a car boot sale was an a-series engined metro manual, even though it's over ten years since I owned a metro, and that was a K-series engined one. My wife said "what have you bought?" I showed her and she was just looked at me with the "?????????" expression.

I guess when you spend all your time & money on cars the addiction becomes pretty obvious!

Me: Ohh what car do you have?
Them: *replies*
Me: What year?
Them: *replies with year*
Me: Ahh i see, so it must be a mk-x, what trim level?
Them: *funny looking face is made towards me*

...when your 14 month old son, having got bored with the Kiddie's Korner playgroundy-place goes to the fence outside to look at all the cars, and you realise it's because since day 1 you've been pointing out all the makes, models features and likely stereotypes who drive them on a daily basis.
