Oxfordshire speed cameras

Oxfordshire speed cameras will be switched back on tomorrow 1st April and sadly no, this is not an April fool.
scamera vans will also apparently be 'out in force' once again in the County....

I didn't know they were switched off..

Don't people double check their speed when going past a speed camera whether it's turned on or not? It's interesting that they enthusiasticly quote:

but don't tell you if thats an increase, decrease or no change at all. My money's on the latter btw.

Also, people are crashing at camera sites then? is that because they are fearfully gawping at the speedo instead of the road ahead?
