Can anyone confirm that I understand it correctly - it's not ok for car manufacturers to show cars driven about at anything over 10 mph but it's fine for mobile manufacturer to produce an ad which shows muscle car racing around town/driving into the wall/flying over other cars

perhaps because a mobile phone doesn't actually have the ability to do that? You can buy a car on the understanding it's the ultimate drift tool, attempt on the high street and kill someone, but playing a racing game will not actually summon the car in real life (unfortunately...)

Sorry, racing cars are racing cars don't matter if they are racing on behalf of big supermarket, fast food chain, mobile phone or car manufacturer.

If it helps, I had exactly the same thought when I saw that ad.

I've moved on since then, but my first reaction was the same.
