BMW ABS MODULE CONTROL FAULT

Abs light on, Traction light, speedo not working etc, any ideas on how much to get the Abs module fixed?

May just be one of the speed sensors

I had this problem on my e46, changed the rear nearside sensor, do a search on the bimmerforum or e46 forum.

A diagnostic check should reveal which sensor to change, I paid about £60 for mine

It was a pig to get out, but it solved the problem completely.

Other than that it was abour £300 for a refurb if I remember correctly

There was a recall for a wire that gets snagged where it passes through the bulkhead on the drivers side. This can be the issue.
The nightmare scenario is that it is the ABS pump. Mine was from a 1999 740 and was specific to BMW, as the refurb people could not refurb it. Unit could not be sourced outside of BMW (tried loads of places).

BMW wanted £1800, but ended up being £950 (long story, but the stealer were caught red handed being completely incompetent) and was covered by my warrenty company limit of £1k.

Pointless pricing up an ABS pump / ECU before you get it plugged in and diagnosed. As mentioned above, it is almost certainly nothing more than an ABS sensor.
