5 guys in a Mondeo/insignia

Maybe a strange question. But i've noticed more and more that rear seats in cars are becoming designed for 2 people. The middle sometimes is shaped poorly for another passenger. I know the new passat CC is actually strictly 4 seater.
Anyway I need to hire a car for 5 guys to travel for 5 hours in. Enterprise has Vauxhall Insignia and Ford Mondeos. obviously every square inch of rear space matters so which one should I ask for.

The Mondeo as it's less likely to breakdown/fall to bits around you.

Went on a stag do to Edinburgh from Manchester area a while back in the current Mondeo with 5-up.

Two biggest in the front two seats, but no complaints from the three in the back, even on the (worse for wear) return trip.

Also, mahoosive boot, so no baggage restrictions.

Insignia doesn't look all that big to me. Would go for the Mondeo out of those two.

I have a focus and weekly the back row of seats gets filled, without complaint. So im sure the mondeo would be fine. (just make sure you are the driver! )

Yep, you guessed it. Stagg do. Hiring a people carrier is 3 times the price (note to self. No never have more than 3 kids).

Ok so Mondeo should be fine, I'll ask for one of them then.

I have Mondeo - Current shape in Titanium spec.

Will fit 3 normal people in the back with plenty room for bags/guns etc in the boot.

S-Max is a better bet as posted above, driven one of those on 1000 mile round trips a few times. 5 up no problem.

Insignia is deceptive, nice big car but pretty crunched up in the back, I'm unsure of actual specs, but we have a few of these at work, roofline seems to slope a bit towards the back end so not best for tall people, I'm 6'2 and struggled to get comfy in the back of one.

Mondeo is also good for flinging around when passangers fall asleep.

I've had both a Mondeo and an Insignia as company cars, and I've also filled up the back seats (then-gf and 3 of her friends got a lift back from the gym). The Mondeo coped fine, only complaint I got was that the rear armrests were slightly awkwardly placed, but not enough to become an irritance. The Insignia was rather cramped behind the seats, and even though I'm a relatively small chap (5'7") I found the cockpit slightly too claustrophobic for my liking. The Insignia's rear suspension also sagged heavily with ~30 stone of women in the back, making the car rather lurchy over speed bumps.

I'd go for the Mondeo to be honest - although I must admit I have a particular disdain for the Insignia.

Mondeo. We hired one a few years ago and it really is massive, very comfortable. Punches well above the Ford badge imo. Ours was a boggo model on the tiny optional-alloys, so I'm guessing that helped quite significantly.

Saw a brand new one the other day, Titanium X estate with bodykit in black, did look very nice but then, at a glance it didn't even look like it had tyres IMHO not only made an otherwise awesome looking car tacky and, to be frank, st, but also can't have helped ride comfort/cost etc. Mad.
