Optional extras/resale value advice please

Just in the process of speccing our new RR Evoque and Ive got a couple of questions about things.
Firstly is an auto gearbox essential for resale? I know that with mid value/prestige cars its difficult to sell them without it, but a)I dont care about auto, b)Its costs £1000 and most importantly.... c) It knocks 10 (ten) mpg off the fuel consumption figure.
So what do you reckon? And before people say "Its your car-just get what you want", the fact is that I like to chop and change my cars so I will want to sell it after a year or two and I hate the process of selling cars thus resale is important to me.
Secondly-colours. Are there no-no colours? And is it still essential to stick to dark exterior/light interior and vice versa or have trends altered?
Thirdly-satnav. I really really don't want to pay £1500 for sat nav that will be almost as good as a £100 Tomtom. Yet again I know normally people wont buy them without.

£1,000 on the Auto box will get you about £1,000 more come resale, so worth it if you want it, and makes no difference to resale if you don't.
Look at it this way, if for arguments sake X% of buyers spec their cars as manual, that basically means X% of the market wants a manual, and it will be roughly the same demand in the used market.
I think the Nav will be worth about £750-£1,000 if you sell it within three years, so you will lose money, so buy if you want it.
I still think dark colours are best, but then when you sell it will be the same as a lot of others, so again try not to worry too much, just don't buy a really jazzy shade of Gold.
ETA the word "don't" in the last sentence. Quite a crucial word if the OP takes my advise literally (always a first time).

I haven't seen a bad colour on the car to be honest but my favourite is probably the red. What spec are you going for?
I would have an auto because I think it will suit the car better, especially the diesel. If you are going petrol I think it won't make too much difference. Again, I personally would have the sat nav as if you are looking to shift it easily I reckon the dual screen etc will be something people will want, though it is unlikely to make the car worth £1500 than one without!

My sister had a Porsche Cayenne a few years ago, which she spec'd without navigation, for the reasons you listed - come resale time, Porsche dealers wouldn't touch with a 40 foot pole because of the lack of nav, and when she finally sold it, she took quite a big hit, just to get rid following a dozen or so people walking away because of it
As for the Auto option, as someone else already said, if it costs a grand, it'll be worth a grand at resale - if you choose not to go for the auto, it shouldn't be an issue - the Freelander Market seems pretty good for manuals
