Came across this in Autotrader but no contact details apart from this URL.

Any ideas why this car is going for nearly 1/4 of the price of similar vehicles?

If it's too good to be true it generally is. 4k is scam money for that car.

Yep, def something dodgy there.

On the other hand, a mate of mine runs one for his business and gets 20 mpg for the privilege. In a diesel!

Ouch.

Surely it can tow the world or something though? hehe

My Boss has a Navara and a Pathfinder. He moaned at me for wasting fuel when I left my van idling for a minute.

The fuel computer is quite entertaining, floor it and watch it drop to 4MPG!

According to him, it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, and it's barely any more economical than his old 4.0 P38 Rangie!

your mate either had a lemon or is telling porkies....

lowest I have ever managed to get from a Navara is 18Mph doing motorway+ speeds with a 2+ tonne Dastle race box.

typically, they do mid 20's to early 30's, early ones (EU3) are significantly better than this.

last time I tried the same with a RR (also a 4L one) it was in single figures....

I've got no reason not to believe him. It could be either that his Pathfinder is always weighed down with tools etc, and/or he never takes it for a long run out and it's always running errands and sometimes towing.

His Rangie by comparison had an easy life, doing longer journeys before he set up his farm and stables, and is still going strong, in fact it lives a couple of doors down from me!

Really could do with setting up a real world driving mpg wiki as no car that I have ever owned has got as high as what the manufacturers have published.

My diesel Disco 3 would only do around 15 about town. Landrover claimed it should do mid 20s urban.

Thanks.

Must be something wrong with my right foot as my late 90s, well serviced BMW 323 does about 18 around town and up to 30 on a run yet that has the Beemer at 28/35. More like the manufacturers figures.

Thank you for your interest in my 2009 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I used to live in the UK until 1 month ago. Due to the economical crisis, the company i was working for went bankrupt and i had to move to Malaga, Spain with my family. I brought the car with me because i love it and i wanted to keep it.I did not think that it would be so difficult to drive a right hand drive car here (also the fees to register it here are high for my current budget). This is the main reason for selling. I tried to sell it to a dealer here and they told me that they will not buy it and to try and sell it back in the UK. Instead of keeping it in garage (during this economical crisis), I decided to sell it to someone back in the UK for a really attractive price. I want to sell it in UK due to the fact that it's an UK version (right handed) and it meets all UK standards.I bought this car from UK and It still has UK registration, so you won't have to pay any import and insurance fees. The car meets all United Kingdom guidelines so there will be no problem regarding UK Customs policy on receiving the car.The car is in perfect condition, the bodywork is immaculate,no scratches, dents or hidden defects as well as the interior in excellent non-smoking condition , never been implied in any accident and it is as advertised. The car comes with log book, HPI cleared, No finance. You will get from me the keys and all documents to register the car in your name. The car will be shipped from Malaga by sea. If the car is not how i described it, i will offer a full refund. It will be insured during transportation and will be delivered at your address in maximum 10 days. Final price is GBP 4,000 (the price includes shipping and insurance fees). I want to take this opportunity to assure you hat this deal is 100% legitimate, the financial part of this deal will be managed by a company that has offices in both UK and Spain and in this way both buyer and seller are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction. Let me know if you need any further details or if you would like to buy my car.

Thank you,
Navarro

Hmmm, so he took some "For Sale" type pictures on what looks to be British Soil, before he moved to Spain, where he then decided he wanted to sell it.

Sounds plausible! rolleyes

yes

My dad has averaged 26mpg over the last 50,000km in his '99 3.0tdi Regulus(aka Pathfinder) and its not short on grunt either tbh.

My fathers Navara is averaging 29mpg over the 90k/5 years he's had it. It's always full of tools/equipment and driven relatively quickly.

Admittedly, it's not often it's taken for short journeys (we live in the country, so short journeys are pretty much non-existent). I guess that must make a noticeable difference in fuel economy.

They are underpowered 2.5 engines over here which have to work too hard, hence poor mpg.
