I'd like people's opinions on this. Well.... Preferably someone knowledgeable.

Stick street view and move around a bit. When you enter Bagley's lane from kings roa there is a blue sign that says no motor vehicles apart from access. This road leads onto hardwood terrace BUT if you turn right to continue your journey on Bagley's lane, there is another sign saying no motor vehicles but the access part is removed.

You'll have to look at the street view October 2025 pics as before that the signage was different.

Please tell me if it's confusing ? Or not? Would you assume that if you were...for example..delivering a parcel that you can drive on Bagley's lane in it's entirely (based on the first signage)

Opinions...even the forum clowns are welcome. But serious opinions preferred

Nothing confusing at all

If you require access you can pass the first sign but not the second. For deliveries you walk the last bit.

Put some images up. You can't expect other forum members to research for you.

Just don't drive in London. Walk or ride a bicycle. Makes everything better.

Might be better off asking the council for clarification if you're not sure. But as the person above suggested, don't drive in London, move away and take your money with you. smile

No. OP should put images up if a response is needed. Do your post properly, OP.

We have buses and the tube too!

Here's a good sign that sat for years on the northern approach to Hammersmith Bridge.

It's not crystal clear, but then it seldom is with these anti-car signs erected by council paid morons/political activsists.

The 'Access' part of the sign presumably refers to doing a right into the Peterborough Terrace cul-de-sac and forward/left onto Harwood Terrace. I think it would be less ambigeous if the removed the first sign on Bagleys Lane and just left the 'No Vehicles' yellow sign to warn of drivers. It seems the first blue sign on Bagleys is a forewarning, but there's no consistency as they don't do the same for Imperial Road.

I Long for a political party/Mayor that would reverse these man made traffic traps/Jams.

I find it Intriguing that some think it's crystal clear and others think it's purposely planted to confuse.

I'm one of the latter, like you. For sure, the first sign is irrelevant.

Initially, I also thought that the first sign is just an advance warning for the second (actual) restriction.

However, the first sign also appears at the traffic light junction when turning right off the main road. It is fixed high up a lamppost, but could be obscured by a bus or truck in the left hand lane.

I don't understand why councils resort to wordy complex signage when 'No motor vehicles' / 'No entry' / 'No right turn' except XYZ is much clearer.

Is the first sign a restriction?, because you're already on Bagleys Lane and there is no turning point provided.

How does a camera enforce "except for access"? Do they follow up every tradesman/visitor to check whether they had a legitimate purpose.

I like this game, I'd be interested to know if people think the sign on the right here is accurate or potentially confusing based on the actual road layout...

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Rw7t8y49fZUZsZcK7

It ignores the fact there's a left turn across the road from it and implies that if you don't take the corner round the right you'll end up in a no entry zone due to the pedestrianised area... but the road continues to the left when it gets to that...

Red dot is the sign with the arrow giving a rough idea of the direction we're looking in, blue lines are roads, yellow is the pedestrianised area it's saying is a dead end.

Every time I pass the sign I think it must cause a bit of confusion for anyone who doesn't know the area already, so in keeping with this topic "what does it mean to you?"

That sign effectively says you can turn left off the road you are currently on but in 150 yards you will reach a straight ahead no entry.

That's my take too, when in reality you can turn left, carry on to to the right or go on into the "no entry" zone where you have a number of options available to continue your journey... like all the buses do as it's the main place they congregate.
