I'm just sitting here looking at the dark and rain (9:30pm on 22nd October) and last week finished a clients contract, so have a week or two with no work. So, I'm just pondering about fekin off for a week on a EU road trip on my own. Mrs 997s isn't very happy with the idea, but you only live once. So, question is, where do I go? What would you do?

I once decided on a Friday to cycle LEJOG. Started that Sunday morning. Might not be the weather for that this weekend mind.

Sorting SkyScanner flights by cheapest first can be fun. Pick the first thing that takes your fancy.

You could go to the Valencia MotoGP if you can wait until next month.

That; what's the furthest you can get for £100/200/etc.

Good luck finding a ferry willing to take you to Europe this weekend.
Most will be cancelled and everyone else will also be trying to use the Chunnel if they can get a ticket.

I've been home for just over a week after doing the NC500 and had a great time. It would solve the ferry problem, not the dark and rain potential but you can't often have it all!

Ooooh, loads of options.

Me…
Atlantic Ocean Road is my first thought. Be fun driving up here, and then driving over this baby!

But check the weather. Could be a bit… rough…

In which case probably a road trip to Costa Del Sol for me. Smooth quiet tarmac, cruise along the coastline enjoying the sites and the heat.

Just over £100 return to the Canaries. Hire car from Autoreisen of Payless and drive an island.

This is what I’d be doing. Wouldn’t fancy being on a bike or a ferry over the next few days.

Find your nearest airport on Skyscanner and see what appeals.

Costa Del Sol as mentioned above could be a good shout. South of France, Italy, Croatia for some warmer weather?

Any other places you’ve always fancied going? I quite fancy the Technik Speyer museum in Germany for example.
