I've just seen a 75 plate on a car parked across the road from my house. I thought that these were only issued on or after the 1st September?
Anyone else seen one early other than on a dealer forecourt?
I'll try and get a picture later on when I get back.

Probably delivered on trade plates or a transporter, so that the buyer / owner can drive it a 00:01 on 01/09/2025.

Some people have minds like that ....

If they drive it before that it's illegal, uninsured, untaxed, etc.

Have always run a small “you win if you spot the best new car” competition with my kids through the years. We did it on rarity and value once the initial first one was snapped.

Haven’t seen any myself yet, so off we go…

Neighbour had a Merc EQA delivered yesterday but hasn’t been able to drive it until today as it was on the new plate.

I wonder how the insurance works if it got nicked while on the drive before the reg date?

Provided it was insured from the date of delivery, why would it make any difference? It is simply on the drive as it would be overnight etc.

Car has been insured whilst on the lorry to the dealer by the logistics company. Was insured when at the dealer being PDI'd by the dealer. Was insured by another logistics company when transported from the dealer to the home.

Things can be insured regardless of other factors.

Its insured on a laying up insurance policy of sorts. ie for theft not use

We had one delivered on the 31st.

They had too many to be able to do them all on the first apparently.

No difference to us, we’re still using the old one until the 11th.

3 days in and I've still not seen one!

Quite rare for me as I'm in the car driving everyday.

Saw a new truck about a month ago getting fuel. Not on trade plates at all. I remarked to the driver that he was the first 75 ive seen and he said "we have a whole yard full of them".

I've driven cars that don't even have registrations yet without trade plates.

Saw my first 75 plate yesterday without leaving the house. Neighbour arrived home in a new electric KIA, not sure what model but a lovely looking car.

Only seen one so far, Audi SUV thing drove past my house Tuesday night.

Incidentally when the 72 plate came out the first one of those I saw was also an Audi.

Always brings back fond memories of trying to spot the new plates when out with my grandparents as a child smile

Yep, peak new reg day was "S" suffix for me - I'll never be able to rid my brain of the TV advert jingle "S plate specials on your Leyland cars".
