As above really - scenario is you've got a huge hill of money to put back into production one car of your choice.

You can engineer it whatever way you want.

My choice? This:

Fibreglass monococque easy enough to put back into production. I'm thinking the fibreglass version would make for the standard model, whilst a top-line track-ready model could use a carbon-fibre monococque.

Engine - well in the spirit of the original, it would have to be something light, smooth, and mentally high-revving. There is only one option here - a Honda VTec from a Civic Type-R with an optional Ariel-stye supercharger.

A range of trimming options, from completely minimalised and stripped-out for track use, to leather-trimmed with bespoke luggage for touring use.

I think I'd swap the wire wheels for Minilites though, given the power that'll be going through them.

What would you choose to bring back from the dead?

MGB GT with modern interior /glass, IRS, and Honda s2000 lump.

Or, if it's a really big hill of cash, Macca F1, with Flemke's mods...

E30 M3 with a little more power (not too much though, you still have to work the engine hard).
or possibly the Jensen Interceptor, completely re-engineered to be faster, lighter and better handling.

Lotus Elan Sprint S2 for me, perhaps with a slighly more modern but still revvy, peppy twin cam engine.

Being picky, that was never in production. Book or film, it was a custom paint colour so not a regular production car. I have a '57 four door, and much as I love it I can't imagine putting one back into production. Now this on the other hand:

If it had all that crap on it it wouldn't be a Chimaeraconfused

But I understand why you Chimp boys might need ithehe
Well, as long as I can switch it off..... It's still useful to have ABS, that would have saved me a couple of pairs of underwear in my time wink
