I was told this morning that you can't turn off traction control on the latest Fiesta models. This suprised me, can anyone confirm this or otherwise? If it can't be turned off does this present any problems, say on snow or ice? Not had a car with this feature yet.

Would you ever really need traction control in a fiesta? They're a nice supermini but hardly on the limits driving machines.

Wouldn't be surprised, you can't turn it off in quite a few cars.

Take the fuse out, but it's probably linked with the ABS one.

Can turn it off on our '09' Fiesta. Not really sure when you'd need/want to though.

Handy to get you moving in the snow, when traction control cuts the power at the slightest sign of a spinning wheel.

It's true, except for the Zetec S I believe (not confirmed).
I never got stuck in the snow but it wasn't that bad here. I wasn't happy when I found out it couldn't be turned off, but I know that now and try to avoid situations where I might need to turn it off. To be honest it won't make much difference as I find modern cars rubbish in snowy conditions with other aids like ABS cutting in at the slightest brake application.

Zetec S has become just a trim level in the new Fiesta so probably same as the others with the ESP operation

When I was looking on the Fiesta forums on how to turn it off on mine I found someone saying you could turn it off on the Zetec S and i've seem a photo showing a button where the credit card holder is on the other models where you can turn it off on this model.

It's the same on the OHs Mito. The TC cant be turned off, stops the wheels spinning but that means it's impossible to move it on ice hehe

It depends what model fiesta, I had a base model fiesta van and you couldn't, now I have the sport van (same as a zetec s) and you can turn it off
