I haven't seen anything from Gulzar for ages and I miss his slightly wayward/whacky modifications. Does anyone know if he's still around? I used to really look forward to following his 'special' projects and I love the way people were so split on his ideas.

Well, that was quick!

From what I've read, he's adding his special touch to Brighton Pier. Some like it. Some do not. Piers have always been a bit bling though.

I'm currently re-doing my garage which will be gloss black floor with metallic gold chips and a black/gold ceiling. I'll post up some pictures in two weeks for a laugh lol. Have been too busy with family/business to update! Only browse on here once a month or so! x

It's not gone too well with Gulzar senior. Just been on the One Show and it looks like a difficult situation:

Quite a bit of nasty local politicking going on there, what a shame. Gulzar looks rather dapper and quite the colourful gent.

Motive? Not necessarily the pier as not enough in the article and happened in Eastbourne which I think is his hometown. He is a rich older man and she is a younger women so could be a lovers quarrel. Or just someone who hates bling, but they would be tyre slashers or keyers rather than this much damage.

I've seen some cars with these silly gold and black stick on upgrades around Edgeware Road in London NW1, mostly high end Mercs and they all look terrible.

I was expecting that article to be at least 15 years old judging by the website design.

It looks like the fine was for not paying future fee's due and not the fact he hadn't paid his employee's.

I hope to stop seeing his awful cars parked outside Eastbourne pier soon then.

His hotel's on fire, just seen headline on BBC.

Not a nice thing to happen, hope nobody is injured.

It looks as if he doesn't own it any more:

Article said:
Eastbourne hotelier Sheikh Abid Gulzar, who owned the Claremont for nine years until 2016, said it was "very sad and very shocking".
