new cars missing a trick ?
Discussion
So thinking about getting a new car and spending maybe 25K-40K on it. Problem is none of the cars I've seen so far seem to have either of the two features I've listed below. Are they unusual or only available on six figure luxury cars? I'm surprised either would cost the manufacturer that much so maybe there is just no market for them?
1/ (Useful I think for any couple that shares a car). Not just memory seats, but memory everything. Would be great when I unlock the car with my keyfox it remembers to move the seat back but also puts the AC where it was last time I used it, moved the steering wheel and set the radio up as I had it plus mirrors.
2/ Dashcam. Cars come with cameras and sensors for parking but what about ones that can be used in case there is an accident and you want to prove what happened?
[optional few features....]
3/ Turn off the bings/bongs and audible warnings if the driver/owner wants it. In the cars I've seen, the owner has to hunt around in the menus to disable the nannying every trip. Often there is no way to remember that setting.
4/ Have the big tesla-style screens gone a bit far? Turning up the heating means scrolling around on a screen. If we all love screens, the next thing will be selecting via a menu system just to open the door....
