Car Storage in Warwickshire...
Discussion
Good evening all, hope you are well.
I'm currently completing an apprenticeship, and with under 18 months to go, I am looking at treating myself to a car to drive on the weekends/takeaway to shows etc if I get a final placement with my employer. The dilemma is that I wouldn't have anywhere to store said vehicle, since our driveway is already full, with no way to keep another vehicle secure.
Can anyone recommend a car storage facility/garage in the Warwickshire area? It doesn't have to be too posh (e.g. Henry's car barn level), but it MUST be secure and reputable - not a shed behind a dodgy used car garage.
Hopefully such thing exists for a reasonable price...
Regards,
Will

Never used them but this facility is near Warwick. I have considered them myself in case I move to somewhere with less space

Thanks for the help all, certainly some good options to consider. If it helps, the car which I'd be looking to purchase and then store when not in use would be a late 90's MGF / TF.
In other words, I'd definitely be prioritising somewhere with a stable climate and somewhere dry (sounds like I'm doing the afternoon weather report now...)

Now that is what I'd be after! Certainly one to consider when the ball starts rolling with the car closer to the time.https://www.countrycarvehiclestorage.co.uk/

Find someone local with a spare garage space or a barn...
The idea of storing an MGF/TF (worth what £3k) at one of these "customer comes first" storage areas with Lamborghinis/Ferraris in the photos, seems a completely unnecessary and disproportionate cost of ownership, especially on an apprentice wage.
Feel free to tell me I am wrong.

Good luck with the apprenticeship and receiving a placement. I'd see if you could work out a smarter solution than buying a £3k car and then hiding it in a £1.5k-£3k a year space nowhere near where you live and a pain in the arse to get to and then drive straight back from as the MG didn't start.
Storage works best for the cars you use least often rather than for regular evening or weekend toys. It's also better financial when the car is above a certain sort of value.
I'd think it smarter to work out a solution that swerved the hassle and cost of storage. If you want a second car for the actual purpose of using it when you want to then I think you'll find paid storage a pain and a waste.
As for solutions, knock on neighbours' doors and ask if they'd like to rent a space in their driveway, find a daily solution so you just have one car for your driveway or eject the daily from the driveway to make space for the MG.

No, I completely agree. It's just trying to find somewhere reasonably local to put the car without the fear of some lowlife breaking in and attempting to steal the car. I think a rented garage or workshop space would probably be the best...The idea of storing an MGF/TF (worth what £3k) at one of these "customer comes first" storage areas with Lamborghinis/Ferraris in the photos, seems a completely unnecessary and disproportionate cost of ownership, especially on an apprentice wage.

Thank you very much, hopefully something will work when it comes to the end of my training.I'd see if you could work out a smarter solution than buying a £3k car and then hiding it in a £1.5k-£3k a year space nowhere near where you live and a pain in the arse to get to and then drive straight back from as the MG didn't start.

Yes that sounds logical. I'll be on the lookout for a small garage fairly local to me. I might scout out the local council garages and see how good (or bad) they may be. Trying to find a space from a neighbour also sounds like a good plan - I'm sure that the mechanic that lives a few doors down from me will be able to help!

I do think your best solution will be to relegate your daily to the street and to give the valuable driveway space to your special car. It's the cheapest option and you get to walk past your special car twice a day and have it instantly available for every conceivable desire to use it.
For me, the key to two car life isn't just to have the cars compliment each other but for the daily to be something you can dump on a street while having the special car immediately to hand if only to look at.
