Looks like a good deal

Whats the catch?

https://thedieselclub.co.uk/

From what I can see £29.99 membership - then set price diesel across UK - currently £1.34 ppl

Currently between our 3 cars we usually spend around £100 per week so should see savings soon!

Ive joined - will see how it works.

Here's a link if anyone wants to join - if you use my link i believe I get £10 of free diesel!

That's 6ppl cheaper than the cheapest diesel locally currently, however it would take 20,000 miles just to pay off the fee before making any savings, assuming 40mpg.

This week's club price is 2p/l more than my nearest Costco (£84 membership with a £40 voucher to spend at the store).

Next cheapest local price is only 0.2p/l more than diesel club price, so that would require me to buy 14995 litres to break even, assuming the price differential is maintained.

Think I'll pass for the time-being.

Costco membership would save you more, as diesel is currently 126.9 at my local.

i can see how it wouldn't work out for many

For me, in Rural Scotland there is no Costco - so that options out.

Between our 3 cars we do 55000 miles per year, so should see a small saving

You'd be lucky to find a decent garage, never mind a Costco, in some rural areas up there biggrin

I got a UK Fuels card for free that does the same. Price this week is £1.29 and that includes at many motorway services.

Don't actually have any diesel vehicles right now though!

Update:

it's working well for me. Card took a while to arrive, so emailed and they refunded initial cost and gave £15 as a voucher - which meant a free £35 of diesel.

have filled up 2 cars twice (four fills) and so far saved £60.21

Admittedly once was at a motorway services so big discount, but I needed diesel and was passing, so why not. Forecourt price was something like £1.73, but I got it for £1.38

Plenty of stations on the network, even in Cumbria and Scotland, so I'm pleased with it.

See photo below and invite link - do use, if you're joining, gets me some free fuel.

Cheers!

I am glad that you have come back and updated us. I spotted an advertisement for The Diesel Club and having looked into fuel cards before but not a Director of a limited company etc. I wouldn't qualify for having one despite me doing 10,000s of miles and spending a fortune each month.

My card is yet to arrive and I got chilly feet especially as an article on the MSE forum appears to have been taken down? -yet it appears in search results. Something smelt fishy though I am most pleased you've cleared that up.

Good evening all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any first-hand updates? I never had the experience of using The Diesel Club as I prefer to use Premium/Super Diesel which wasn't supported by the card although it did arrive.

Their Trustpilot has took a nose-dive as at some point their physical cards began declining.
Many users report paying the £30 sign-up fee and never receiving a card. I suspect that they are a small team and their customer service is swamped. I wouldn't be suprised if Customer Service is just the company directors.

It has been really quiet since the 9th of Feb when this was posted:
"We know many cards are still declining - this is not the experience we want you to have.
We are in the middle of moving away from our legacy card network, which has continued to cause issues at a large number of forecourts. Until this [i]migration is complete, some cards may continue to decline.
Our focus right now is issuing new virtual fuel cards on the upgraded infrastructure as quickly as possible. You’ll be notified by email as soon as your new card is ready to install in the app.
If you joined before 5 January 2026 and have not saved more than your joining fee due to these issues, we will be refunding your joining fee in full. Refunds will be processed automatically and confirmed by email.
You don’t need to contact support to request a refund or a new card - we’ll handle this and keep you updated.
Updated: 9th February 2026"

Their Facebook has a few recent comments, including this one from one day ago:
"[...]To clarify we’ve closed our doors to new members since January the 5th. Please make sure to see the app for the latest updates and nearly all members have been refunded their members fees as were converting to a free to signup service."

In truth I am just fishing to see if anyone has any good news/hope to share to convince me that this was not an ellaborate scam.
Cheers,

scotlandtim

As it stands I have nothing good to say about them - despite my earlier comments.

initially everything worked, but since Early Feb my card has been declining, and I am still awaiting a new card, as is every other member.

This in itself is one of those things, annoying, but understandable. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication.

I have email 5 times, sent multiple whatsapps, and had nothing back - complete radio silence.

With the current rise in fuel costs - I'm annoyed to say the least - my advice, as a member, avoid - go elsewhere.

Avoid "The Diesel Club"

My local Costco is £1.499 today, so £1.38 is a really good deal.
