I am in search of high quality carpet mats for my Range Rover and Porsche. Beyond the dealer offerings are there any UK (or EU) based manufacturers worth considering?

I had someone a bit more premium in mind. Perhaps there are bespoke mat producers?

If you want bespoke talk to a local trimmers.

I once had some sheepskin mats made up for a customer at one of these places.

I've used carmats.co.uk before, they sell basic car mats to plush deep pile, you can customise the colour , trim and even add bespoke stitching. I got the middle range ones and they seemed pretty good, I only had the car 6 months but they didn't wear in that time.

I generally don't think there are decent aftermarket carpet mat manufacturers in the UK. By that I mean the ones that advertise on eBay etc.

Most just use a roll of the same carpet fabric for a Fiesta to a Porsche. I've seen more Euro manufacturers offer better products but the only problem is LHD vs. RHD. In general you can't beat OEM carpet mats for fit and quality.

And then you get the ones that produce diamond check leather ones for drug dealers. yuck

I'm more into decent rubber mats with large lips. eek The USA benefit from Weathertech mats which are really good.

Apologies, I thought I was in the TVR forum area...

They do rubber ones, and odourless too (??)

For a Ranger Rover id go for genuine.
My landrover freelander 2 has genuine carpet mats, 12 years old and 145000 miles and they are still perfect.

If you use Facebook, then this guy is worth a follow.

He can do the quilted leather for orange people with those big lips, but he also does really good stuff for the Jag and Aston lot.

Quite a few of the guys in the Aston groups have used him and he has had good reviews

Agreed, put the leg-work in to find a set of mint OEM mats, the 322 and 405 ones were lovely.

Autostyle are excellent, they've reproduced NLA OEM mats for me perfectly for a couple of my 90's cars.

I've had good experiences with UK-made mats from Cocomats and Car Mats UK. They're a lot better than the cheap universal ones and tend to fit properly and last for years.

If you're after something that feels close to OEM quality, I'd look for thick carpet mats with a heavy backing and stitched edges. They cost more upfront, but they don't wear through nearly as quickly.

Personally, I'd rather buy one good set and forget about it than replace cheap mats every couple of years.
