£3 million?

Right!

Right!

Work out a finance plan that gets it down to £500 a month and we might be in business

you may need a little bit of salary sacrifice to top up the payments

Thank goodness it's Euro 4 rated, as that would have been a show stopper for me.

But really, that is a fantastic car, would be perfect for a run across France at this time of year avoiding the toll roads.

One of if not the best example of a limited edition. Love these.

That looks, to me, far too big for its wheels, almost stretch limo proportions.

This really looks like an incoherent mix-up of different types of car:
An open cockpit with a small, light, normally aspirated manual car? Yes, that's fun.
A big V8 with a torque converter auto? Yes, work well together for practical, easy oomph.
Mixing the two? No thanks.

It's not even a well-executed mix-up, Evo magazine recently recommended the contemporary Ford Focus 1.6 as a better driver's car than an SLR.

Does anyone 'in the know' reckon this bill for brakes on a SLR can be anywhere close to real which I saw online?
If so it's absolutely absurd.

I think it looks bloody terrible and the type of thing Sbarro would've pumped out back in the day.

I like the idea of it if someone had told me about it. Until I saw it.

Not sure about a 1.6 Focus being a better drivers car but otherwise, I'd agree.

Fine if you want one for a collection, but I struggle to see it as remotely usable in the real world, even as a high days and holidays special run machine.

Yep, Gemini suggests $100K to $130K to replace all pads & ceramics 2005 SLR

eta I’m guessing the ceramics lasted for 19 years which is only $500 per month smile

The boggo standard (if it's allowed to be called that) coupe looks far nicer to me for a fraction of the price.

Saw one at the 2013 German GP. Well heard it fire up and all of us in unison said “what the fk is that?!”.

Then it rolled out of the ‘ring platz car park. Looks amazing in real life.

Remind me to factor a maintenance plan into that deal.

Stirling Moss, never F1 champion. Does anyone under 70 years old, actually care about him today?

Many people with an interest in racing, yes.

The fact that Moss was never champion is neither here nor there. For the vast majority of his career, certainly after Fangio retired, Moss was not just the best; he was the best by a long way, and acknowledged as such by his peers.
