Hi Ted,
Just a note really, as you know i've been a member for a while, and never really noticed this, but i spoke to a friend who pops on other car-related forums, but not so much on PH, and i asked why?
...but PH is a minefield of forums. I never know where to look.
so i wondered, instead of all the forum topics being shown 'on mass' could we not have a 'drop down'/'pull down' menu system?
just an idea, like i said never occured to me before :)

Surely without the forum categories, it would be even harder to know where to look?

Personally, I just click on "What's New" and dip into topics that take my fancy, regardless of forum.

If I'm looking for something specific, I browse the appropriate forum or use the Search function.

It works for me!

I can see his point to some extent but 'minefield' is a bit extreme

I may make the categories collapsable so you can open/close the partiular groups of forums that you're interested in.

As mentioned above, I use the "What's new" feature, and just look at topics I like the look of, rather than going to forums.

Ditto, I also have some forums preselected under -edit- Prefs.

But hey, I like the way it's now. Why would UKs biggest automotive website change?

Isn't it easiest to just select you favourites in your 'preferences'?

Having made my own selection, when I click on FORUMS on the front page, I see four ...

 • General
 • P&P
 • Kits
 • Scotland

Occasionally, I click 'show all forums' ... hence why I'm here replying to this thread ...

Cheers,

Eric

Yep, that's good for experienced users of the forums but I guess a new user might be a bit daunted by the number on show?

I actually like the layout as it is. I don't use preferences even though I only regularly vist 5 or 6 topics, but I like to pop into one or two just to see what goes on in there. I think it works well.
