Approval/like/thumbs up/thanks button

Just wondering if it is a good idea. Take for instance the video viewing thread. I could waste a post/bandwidth replying with a thanks or I could just click a thumbs up button. Same goes for anyone who has nothing better to reply with than "+1". Fair enough if more posts = higher ABC (or equivalent) numbers.

I use it on other forums where I would otherwise waste bandwidth replying with an "I agree" post.
