Time to ban 'What Car?" threads?!

Invariably they amount to someone being too lazy to do their homework or not brave enough with their own ability to choose and needing to feel the security of being part of the herd.

If one already has a list of requirements/specs. then Google and their brain should be all they need.

I rarely contribute to them but read some of them and they create interesting

You have another sub forum, so you have GG, SP&L etc etc but you add a what car forum.

The rule being that if you want to do a 'what car', you start a thread in there.

I think 'What car' threads are great.
Gives the OP information on things that past owners of the car that are interested in have experienced - you can't really get that out of a magazine.
It also saves going on various car forums and asking biased owners 'what car shall I get?'

This.

A car forum will throw up people asking what car they should buy! The debates can be quite interesting to read. You learn some valuable info from owners on these threads and they have already helped influence me on what car I will be buying next.

I don't read lots of threads in here if the topic isn't one I care about but I don't think they should all be moved or banned.

There was a fella who asked on Mitsi EVO forum whether to buy a Focus RS

He also asked that in the Ford RSOC forum

I'm looking for a rwd 2 seater sports car, cash is a bit tight at the moment so i've only got £1500 to spend, had anyone got any recommendations?
