Chaps, can you tell me what the 'rules' are for this to appear at the end of postings.

Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. When it is set to show editing has taken place?

I believe that if you edit your own post within 2 minutes of posting it, it won't show it as being edited.

Timing. I think you get a couple of minutes to fix illiteracy before it gets added.

This. We give you a few minutes to go back and fix any spelling mistakes. Past that, it will show the "Edited by..." message.

Plus, if you find yourself editing it several times, you can delete the older "edited by" lines from your post as you do so. So you only end up with one, rather than 3 or 4, which makes you look a bit "special", to be honest
