Forum running really slow

Don't think it is just me but over the past week i would say, the forum is running really, REALLY slow. The homepage is pretty quick but as soon as i try going onto the forum, looking through threads etc it takes ages and sometimes crashes.......

Any ideas why this is or if it will be back up to speed soon?

All other forums / websites etc are running at normal speed for me.

PH does seem to be very variable currently. I do wonder whether the same problems are continuing or other problems have overtaken PH.

That's the most common message in my info bar trying to access the Gassing Station tonight. Then it crashes.

Did you really need to post that, or did you feel the need to prove that you are a dick?

The fact that I was speaking in the past tense is indicative of a previous inability to access the site.

For the hard of thinking, I shall re-phrase; "In the previous 45 minutes leading up to this moment in time, I have been unable to gain access to the forum. Evidently, seeing as I am now posting, this technical issue has been resolved and my ability to post has now resumed."

As a matter of interest has any PH member of staff responded to the various problems there have been over the last ten days with a comprehensive overview?

I have seen various explanations that suggested various reasons.

None of these suggested to me that this would seem to be continuing.

Am I missing something?

We have responded with an explanation each time there has been an issue. The issues began on Monday (hardly 10 days ago) and we techies have been putting in 18 hour days in the past week to get everything back running smoothly. I, personally, was up until 5am last night getting to the bottom of the issue and have been working all day today as well. Please respect that a web site takes a lot of human effort to keep going, and when some pesky nerd is DDoS'ing the site at random it can be a bit tough to nail down over a site as big as ours.

We're doing our best and being as open and responsive as we can. Please appreciate that.

Matt simply dropped his chocolate hobnobs into the server. It's been goosed ever since.

Don't worry, Matt, most PH'ers are quite ok with the response the ph staff have given. Plenty of threads on the issue have cropped up, and Stuart gave a very good couple of posts on the issue. Maybe we should just have one thread about the issues?

Very slow to load and trying to edit my ad to find I had somehow withdrawn it. When trying to edit my ad I also get this:

Sorry, something's not quite right.
The technical team have been notified.


Starting to get just a tad frustrating as now my ad is currently not on the site and I can't get it back on grrrrrrrrrr
