Automatic update to current value of car in "My car" section

I like being able to record and share ownership costs of my car in my profile.

The only drawback is that the "current value" figure quickly gets out of date, so the depreciation cost is inaccurate.

Would it be possible to link the model of car and its age to a current used value? I assume Haymarket will have a database of used car values that could be used for this.

Obviously some people prefer not to think about the real value of their P&J, but it would be nice if this could be included as an option.

You wouldn't. It's just a rough guide.

There is inevitably some scope for inaccuracy, and everyone likes to delude themselves that their car is immaculate and worth at least 10% more than the guide price.

I still think it would be a useful option to have, to allow me to track how much my car is costing me per mile/year.

Plus cars with loads of options vs base spec cars - guide prices tend to follow base spec. Then there is also modified cars; these wouldn't follow guide prices either.
