Selecting pages in long running threads

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to select a page in a long running thread. For example, in the lounge there is a thread called "show us you animated gifs" full of funny stuff. If you spend 10 or 15 minutes scrolling through the pages you get to page 30 ish. There are some 250 odd pages to go through. Nobody will sit and go through that many pages, so you move on and go back another time to look at some more.
The next time you come back to the thread, is there a way of starting at say page 31 or even 201 rather than having to start at the beginning and trawl through all the pages that you have been through on a previous browsing session to reach where you left off last time? If not there are an awful lot of pages in the middle that nobody is going to look at.
