Constructive suggestions for new classifieds

Given the general bhing on some of the other threads, I thought I'd start a new one purely for constructive suggestions.

Some from me (apologies if they've been mentioned before), and hopefully none of these are particularly difficult:

- change some of the filter options to be more intuitive to what you really need.
- For example, who actually searches for a car with between 40-50mpg, what you really want to say is "at least 40mpg". This is the case already for some options but not all, so just needs some common sense tidy up.

- consistency with the headings on adverts (perhaps always start with year, miles, garage, exact model etc) before the user's title

- option to stop the animations. I'm quite happy for a button to grey out then re-appear once a background operation has finished. Some of the animations make it feel slower than it is, and won't help people on low powered browsers

remove the classified search facility from the home page its the last thing to load and slows it all down. Thats what the classifieds tab is for. I would guess the majority use PH for the forums not the classifieds.

good idea. a 0-100 selection criteria might be nice, or 0-60 less than 4,5,6,7 seconds rather than between 4-5, 5-6, 6-7 etc.

I've just searched for cars with 4-5 second 0-60, over 3 years old up to 18k and got one

Otherwise, keep faith boys. I like search refinery options, and reckon you have a great opportunity to make your search criteria focused on speed and performance matters. Maybe have a car weight selection to - cars less than 1200kg etc, that kind of thing or bhp per ton. Might take a lot of data input but would be awesome. Happy to help you collect the stats

p.s. include the 'adverts listed in last 24hours, 3 days, 7 days etc - I used to use this to search locally and be aware of new ads on a daily basis. Can't see this feature in the new classifieds. Autotrader doesn't offer this either.

Offer a simple search by default - i'd advise identical to previous search criteria so as not to alienate existing users and it was pretty friendly and easy to use for new users as well. Then offer a simple button for additional search criteria that includes all the new options. This for me would be the biggest improvement in design.
