Log in doesn't return you to original forum now

If I am browsing a forum without logging in and then decide to contribute, so log in, I am sent back to the main forum list rather than being redirected back to the forum where I was when I decided to log in.

This never used to be the case, you'd decide to log in and after pressing 'log in' you'd go back to where you were. Now you go all the way back to the main menu which if you were many pages into a thread is annoying as you loose where you were.

Is this a bug or an annoying feature of the new, 'improved' PH?
