+1 / like / upvote

We've all got used to being able to "like" a post on Facebook, or "+1" it on Google+, or Upvote / Downvote on The Register, and all sorts of other permutations.

And there is a history of people on PH quoting an entire post simply to add "+1"

I'm sure it's already been discussed or considered, but it could be good to see something like that on PH. Perhaps it could be used to build someone's reputation and displayed on their profile - their ratio of upvotes to downvotes.

Anyway, just an idea.

Having said the above, I hardly think a one-page thread that fizzled out the same day it was posted warrants a "no fking st" with no less than 3 exclamation marks.
