PH Homepage - how many dependencies?

CThis isn't intended as a criticism, just an observation - I've seen some variable performance from the PH homepage in recent months... ran a pingdom test tonight to see if it might be me or the backend (via http://tools.pingdom.com/)

I'm not an expert, but you have an awful lot of dependencies on other sites to fully render your homepage - 9 separate domains / companies?

Some of it is to drive the ads you see on the front page, some of it is for our images, javascript, and css which might be served on a CDN but otherwise look like it comes from another domain. They're also asynchronous requests, so they won't effect the load time.

We scored a 77/100 on the site you mentioned. I don't see any issue, especially comparing to other major sites like amazon.com.

Fair enough... must be my laggard ISP or general server load in recent months, just thought I'd flag it.

I also just put the new classifieds site in there. Good to see it scores an 80 and has 1/3rd of the calls of the current site.
