Quoting loses initial letter

I haven't been able to reproduce this reliably yet, but I've noticed on a number of occasions that quoting somebody results in the first letter of what is being quoted being lost.
Low incidence - maybe one in twenty (if that) - so it will probably be quite hard to track down but something to keep an eye out for.

I reported this a while back.
I have absolute confidence in the ability of the tech team to identify it, reproduce it, design a fix, code the fix, test it and deploy it to production.
